How long does a session last?
A typical individual session is 50 minutes. Longer sessions can be arranged upon consultation.
What are the fees?
Please contact us directly to discuss fees. The fees depend on the length of the session provided.
Fee for a 50 minute session ( individual) is $160.
Does OHIP cover therapy and counselling services?
The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover therapy fees offered by a Registered Social Worker in a private practice. However, many extended employer health benefit plans cover, either fully or partially, therapy offered by a Registered Social Worker . We encourage our clients to speak with their Extended Benefits provider to determine their eligibility, coverage they have and claim procedures before commencing therapy.
For clients paying out of pocket, payment can be made at the end of each session via credit or debit card.
Please note that services offered by registered social worker (RSW) may be claimed in Ontario as medical expense for income tax.
Are you part of any paid plan?
We are registered providers with NIHB, VQRP and Medavie Blue Cross.
If you are a retired or activate military member you might be eligible for coverage through Medavie.
If you are a university or college student, please contact us directly so that we can provide you with more information about coverage available.
How many sessions do I need to see progress?
The number of sessions needed depends on many factors, including client’s goals, their history and current functioning among others.
Any therapeutic work starts with an initial consultation, which lasts about 50 minutes. This is an opportunity to describe the difficulties in more detail, build a rapport with the therapist, ask questions regarding counselling and psychotherapy and discuss the plan to achieve client’s goals.
What if I can no longer come to my appointment?
Your appointment is reserved for you.
Any cancellations must be received at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Client is responsible for calling or emailing and canceling their appointment. Failure to do so will result in the client being charged for a missed appointment.
A full session fee is charged if you fail to show up for your appointment (no show). You will be invoiced for late cancellation/reschedule or a no show. Your attention to this is appreciated.
